Welcome to Organic Ecology:
Organic Ecology
is a division of New Information Paradigms Ltd. (NIP) that develops technological
solutions to strengthen and promote the integrity of Organic food, both within the industry
and in the marketplace. We believe that this "twin-pronged"
approach is the best way to serve the Organic sector, by increasing connectivity
and openness to benefit both those in the supply chain, and those that consume
its products. This
is only possible in a network of easily-available, reliable information.
Systems The cornerstone
of Organic Ecology is our Farm Management System, a multi-language,
web-based system that captures and distributes information about organic
products throughout the sector and beyond. Farmers enter their day-to-day
activities in a secure and consistent way to assist both Farm Management,
and the meeting of industry record keeping standards.
The Farm Management System itself can be logged into here.
Read more about the system here.
We welcome any comments you have about either this site, our systems or
the organic industry in general. Please get in touch with us with your feedback
by e-mailing us at info@organicecology.com. |

Consumer Trace What
is "Organic"? Given the diversity of standards that exist at
the moment, this can be a difficult question to answer, especially from
a consumer perspective. Organic producers are at pains to prove authenticity
and convey the richness of beliefs and standards that underpin the sector,
to increase confidence in organic food.
Consumer Trace is a complementary mechanism to the Farm Management
System, connecting the consumer to the producer to achieve these objectives
of openness and trust.

Resources There is a huge
amount that could be written about Organic as an industry - from why people
"go organic", to what all the different industry players do; even
how to start an Organic garden! Our Resources
section is an attempt to begin providing some of that information.
It contains Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), an extensive links page, and a
glossary . We welcome any suggestions you have to make about the content!
